For over a century, the White family has farmed the land that surrounds Glastonbury Tor, a landscape as rich in history as it is in grass. What began in 1918 with a few acres and a handful of cattle has grown into a thriving fourth-generation family farm, where tradition, animal welfare, and respect for the land still guide everything we do.
At Whites of Wick, we believe the best food starts with the way it’s raised. Our 280-acre farm is home to a herd of Aberdeen Angus suckler cows, all born and reared here in Somerset. They graze freely on rolling pastures, fed only on homegrown, soya-free forage because we’d rather know exactly what goes into our animals than take shortcuts.
Every cut of beef we produce tells a story of provenance and care. Hung for at least 21 days, our meat is rich, tender, and full of natural flavour the result of slow, careful farming that puts quality before quantity.
When you buy from Whites of Wick, you’re not just choosing premium, homebred Somerset produce you’re supporting real farming families, protecting local farmland, and keeping traditional agriculture alive for the next generation.
Our Aberdeen Angus beef is the result of a carefully managed cycle from pasture to plate entirely on our Glastonbury farm.

At Whites of Wick, we’re proud to keep things local — not just with our own homebred Aberdeen Angus beef, but by working closely with trusted Somerset farmers who share our values of quality, welfare, and sustainability.
Alongside our beef, you’ll find:
Free-range Chicken — reared just a few miles away, tender and full of flavour.
Outdoor-bred Pork — raised naturally with care, perfect for sausages, joints, and Sunday roasts.
Locally Grazed Lamb — from neighbouring farms, rich and succulent thanks to Somerset’s lush pasture.
Each of our partners is handpicked for their commitment to traditional farming and high welfare standards. Together, we’re proud to offer a range of locally sourced meats that celebrate the very best of Somerset produce — all with full traceability from our fields (and theirs) to your plate.
